About Richard J. Ebbinghouse

I’m Rick Ebbinghouse, an attorney in Birmingham, Alabama. I help people put their lives back together.  I use law as a tool to accomplish that  for people injured in accidents caused by others and wrongful death.  I also help those who have not been treated fairly by their employer.  That includes discrimination cases (race, sex, and age among others) and large class actions.  I have been practicing law for thirty-two years. I graduated from Cumberland School of Law in 1977 with honors, cum laude.   When  I am not helping others as a lawyer, I help through my church. I lead a Small Bible Study Group and also am involved with the Alpha Course.

This blog arose from answering questions on Tuesday evenings during dinner at “The Jesus Group,” a Small Bible Study Group that I lead. In this blog I will share some of that information with you. I will cover injuries, accidents, trials and other issues.

Please be aware that the information here is general and not tailored to what might be your specific facts. If you have specific questions, you should consult a lawyer. The Birmingham Bar Association’s lawyer referral service can be reached at (205) 251-8006. The Alabama State Bar Association has a lawyer referral service. Their toll fee 800 number is 1-800-392-5660. You can reach me at:

Our firm has a web site which has information about the whole firm. You should be aware that unless you have come into our offices and signed a contract there is not an attorney-client relationship between us and we have not undertaken to represent you.

This is not an advertisement, however to the extent that someone might construe it to be one the Alabama State Bar Rules require the following language:

“No representation is made that the quality of legal services to be performed is of a greater than the legal services performed by other lawyers.”
