Professors Michael Morrisey of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and David Grabowski of Harvard Medical School in a study found that for every 10 percent increase in gas prices there was a 2.3 percent decline in auto deaths. According to the Alabama Department of Public Safety an Atmore man was killed Tuesday night in a two car accident around 10 p.m. It occurred six miles north of Atmore on County Road 1. View Larger Map The other driver was taken to Atmore Community Hospital. The accident is under investigation by state troopers.
